Introduction to Rational Functions

What is Rational Functions?

A rational function is basically a division of two polynomial functions, that is when a polynomial divided by another polynomial.

For example:

This is the simplest form of rational functions. Of course, x cannot equal to zero. If x equals to zero, the function will be undefined.
The graph of the function will look like this. We will notice that the graph will never be on x=0 or y=0.

For further details, stay tuned =)
